Vinyasa yoga
Vinyasa yoga, sometimes referred to as "vinyasa flow,"
is a particular yoga style centered around constant movement of the
body in coordination of breathing control. Each move is an adjustment
from one pose to another, and aligned with an exhale or inhale. It is
a faster paced style focused more on movement than stretching.
Vinyasa yoga in practice is subject to the methods of those teaching
and learning. Some instructors move at a faster pace than others, some
include chanting, and some are more focused on particular alignments
of the body rather than the general feel of the movement.
Vinyasa yoga allows for a lot of personality styles and quirks to shine
through, because it is not a defined style with specific poses and holds.
With the movement of the body and control of the breathing, vinyasa
yoga leaves a lot of room for interpretation. Additionally, because
there is so much room for personal influence on this style of yoga,
it is possible it will take one longer to find a suitable instructor
in the vinyasa program that will work best with the student's needs
and style.
